Our Board

Robyn Gillespie – Board Chair
- B.Nursing (Flinders), MPH (Adv) (UoW)
- Casual academic and PhD candidate in the School of Medicine at the University of Wollongong.
- Was a student leader for her high school ISCF group, volunteered on Shoalhaven Heads SUFM team for six years and ran a SUPA club for five years.
- Home in the Illawarra and attends St John's Anglican Church, Keiraville.
- Married to Ian with four children.
- Joined the Board in 2014 and became Chair in 2018.


Eric de Rooy - Deputy Chair
BEng Civil (Wollongong Uni), MBA (Wollongong Uni), GAICD
- Recently retired after a long period working with Sydney Water, with last role as General Manager for all Sydney Water’s water, sewerage, storm water and recycled water services.
- Married to Marion, with four adult children and six grandchildren.
- Was an active member of the ISCF group at school and has supported two of his children to be active at Shoalhaven Heads SUFM, where they met their spouses.
- Long term member of the Christian Reformed Church of Sutherland.
- Joined the Board in 2017.


Steve Billington
- B.A.Dip.Ed (Usyd), M.A (Pysch-Usyd) M.Ed (Usyd)
- Retired State Secondary Schools Principal and presently works with Sydney University in mentoring students during their practicums.
- During his years with the Department of Education he has also worked in Special Education and was a Senior Independent Reviewer for Staff Efficiency and Conduct.
- Steve’s journey with SU commenced when he was in High School and has also included Beach Missions, Leadership Conferences, running ISCF groups and serving on SU Council in the ‘80s and early 90’s.
- Married to Bronwyn and enjoys spending time with his children, the family and friends, as well as an occasional game of golf.
- Several other family members have also been involved in Beach Missions and his youngest daughter went to Schoolies in Vanuatu, which was just amazing she tells the family.
- Joined the Board in 2018.


Mike Hastie
- BE(Aero) Hons (USyd), BDiv (Moore)
- Executive pastor at Newtown and Erskineville Anglican Church.
- Formerly an aeronautical engineer and still loves to make things work.
- Married to Kel (who he met on an SU mission) and has three boys, Callum, Lewis and Hayden.
- Mike has served on SUFM's as a team director, regional director and committee member.
- Joined the Board in 2013 and served as Board Chair from 2016 to 2018.


Graham Jones
- B.Comm, LLB
- Practising solicitor since 1983, establishing a firm in the city in 1998.
- Married Amanda in 1984 and they both play an active role at Northside Baptist Church, which has been Graham’s church family since 1975.
- Graham’s initial active involvement with Scripture Union NSW was through sports ministry.
- Joined the Board in 2002.


Tim Lihou
- B.PESS (USyd)
- Works for the NSW Department of Industry in the field of industry development.
- Married to Clare
- Involved with SU since the age of 16, leading an ISCF group at Fort Street High School, leading SU Cricket camp, and member of the Camps Reference Group.
- Joined the Board in 2018, and brings to the Board a professional background in risk management and business continuity.


Elizabeth Moll
- B.Accounting (University of Technology, Sydney), LLB (University of Technology, Sydney), B.Div (Moore Theological College)
- Worked as a management consultant with L.E.K. Consulting in their Sydney, Los Angeles and Boston offices. - Completed her Ministry Training Strategy apprenticeship at the City Bible Forum in Sydney and her Bachelor of Divinity at Moore Theological College in 2013.
- Attended ISCF in school and has tutored on SU’s HSC study camps. Volunteered on the Currarong SUFM team and served as Team Director for five years.
- Married to Nick and they have three children.
- Joined the Board in 2010.


Peter Stone
- BA DipEd (UNSW), M Christian Studies (Regent College), M.Ed (UNSW), Grad Dip Bus Admin (Monash), MAICD
- Became a Christian at an SU camp in 1968; was ISCF group leader at his high school; camp director, SUFM leader and a member of the Camps committee as a volunteer, then served for ten years as a staff member, leaving from the role of Associate Director; was a note writer for Daily Bread.
- Life after SU included roles at the Australian Tax Office, Coopers & Lybrand and AMP.
- Has served on the advisory board of SU Australia for several years.
- For the last 15 years he has run his own consulting business, specialising in strategy formation and implementation. He currently coordinates the Executive Leaders programs for Arrow Leadership.
- Married to Grace, has two adult children and a beagle named Bella.
- Long-term member of St Barnabas Anglican Church in Broadway.
- Joined the Board in 2017.
