Design & Communications Coordinator

Scripture Union NSW is an evangelical interdenominational Christian movement committed to sharing the message of Jesus with children, young people and families. We are part of an international movement with a 150 year heritage.
As we embark on a number of organisational change initiatives, our State Director (CEO) is seeking a gifted graphics designer and digital communications specialist to join our small but vibrant staff team. We envisage it being a 30 hour a week role worked over 4 or 5 days. The role may also involve occasional after hours and weekend work.
SU is a movement with a small number of staff supporting a large number of volunteers. Each year around 2,500 SU volunteers reach around 30,000 people. This role will be key in supporting and working closely with the State Director as he engages with stakeholders at a number of levels. The role will also extend to developing new daily devotional resources to help families engage with the Bible.

The successful candidate will:
• Be accomplished in digital graphics design with strong Creative Cloud and Microsoft Word experience;
• Present professionally, working with diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality;
• Be highly organised, able to prioritise and work on multiple concurrent tasks;
• Have a good attention to detail;
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Be familiar with social media and its role in a digital marketing strategy.
• Be active in their local church, with a heart for mission.
• Have, or be pursuing, tertiary qualification in a graphics &/or communications related discipline.

Current or prior involvement in an SU ministry would be well regarded as would some level of theological training.

Scripture Union NSW is an evangelical interdenominational Christian movement committed to sharing the message of Jesus with children, young people and families. We are part of an international movement with a 150 year heritage.

We are seeking a resourceful and tech savvy IT graduate to join our small but vibrant staff team to lead the development and implementation of improved cloud based applications to support the growth of our ministries.

In this role you will liaise with staff, volunteers and our development consultants as we implement Salesforce CRM. You will also be our inhouse IT 'go to' person as we work on getting our IT infrastructure in order. It is a two year role with opportunity for extension. It is a full time role but we could accommodate part time for someone in their final year of studies.

SU has a relatively small staff supporting a large number of volunteers and in this position you will have a key role in communicating with, and training, a dispersed 'workforce'. You will be need to be excellent communicator and become an excellent trainer.

Understanding our work is crucial to success in the role and so we support your participation in an SU Camp or SUFM team each each. We are also committed to supporting your skills development.

Your application will need a resume, and a separate cover letter describing how you meet the following criteria.

• Qualification in an Information Technology related discipline.
• Strong deductive reasoning & problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
• Highly organised with a keen eye for detail
• Strong technical capabilities.
• Demonstrated passion for ministry to children and youth, with past or present involvement in such highly regarded.
• Prior experience with Salesforce or Office365 Sharepoint would be well regarded.

The role would best suit an evangelical mission minded Christian active in his or her local church. Cover letter should include the name of the church you attend and a desciption of your level of involvement in your church.
