Junior Bike Camp Past Rides

2018 -Capertee to Rydal

Starting at Capertee we rode down into Turon Gates via one of the most epic downhills in bike camp history.

The second day we rode up Mt Horrible (yes it is actually called Mt Horrible!) and spent the second half of the day riding fire trails to finish at our camp on the edge of Sunny Corner State Forest.
After a great day riding the trails in Sunny Corner we exited the forest and rode into Wallarawang to set up camp on banks of Lake Wallace.

Our final day brought us to Rydal where we finished camp riding some awesome MTB single trails.

Check out some photos of camp here.

2017 - Mount Trickett to Taralga

What a way to start Bike Camp - at the top of a mountain - Mount Trickett - the highest point in the Blue Mountains! From there we headed down into Gurnang State Forest to zig and zag our way through some awesome pine forest trails. After camping amongst the pines the first night and riding through some more great pine forest trails we eventually popped out of the forest to enter the Blue Mountains National Park.

The second night we camped among the wallabies at the Mount Werong Campsite - an old miners hut deep in the Blue Mountains National Park.

The next day we headed off on some single trail to Ruby Creek Mine and then on to The Range Fire Trail that included some incredible downhills! Camp that night was on a nice grassy knoll with a cracking campfire to swap stories around.

The last day we finally found sealed roads and rode into the township of Taralga to finish up camp wishing there was more!

Once again it was another great camp with plenty of incredible downhills, a few challenging climbs, great food, stories around the campfire and learning about Jesus and who he claimed to be. Check out some photos of camp here.

2016 - Orange to Blayney

Rain, rain and more rain - we almost thought we might have to cancel Junior Bike Camp for 2016 with wettest winter season leading up to camp. But we had managed to get through (senior) Bike Camp the week before and actually had some sunshine for Junior Bike Camp!

Junior Bike Camp 2016 started in the centre of Orange and headed straight out to the nearby MTB trails in Kinross State Forest, home to the famous Ginga Ninja MTB race. From there we headed through town across to the other side towards Mount Canobolas. Before heading up the mountain we hit the local Orange MTB trails for some technical single tracks and play in the practice area. We camped in the cool of Mount Canobolas before heading down into the slippery, clay pine forests on the other side.

Bible studies were on Daniel were we learnt about faith in seemingly impossible situations and how God often works behind the scenes.

We finished up in Blayney where Kody tested out the local BMX track… and the strength of Isaac’s helmet – ouch.

Overall Junior Bike Camp for 2016 was filled with thrills and a few spills and ended with everyone already looking forward to next years camps!

2015 - Mount Yengo to Wollombi

Starting out at Mount Yengo even getting to the start of Junior Bike Camp was an expedition of its own this year! The weather cranked it up a notch and it felt like the middle of summer! Some truly epic downhills and plenty of water crossings on the last day had everybody leaving with a smile and hanging out for where bike camp will take them next year! Check out photos of the camp here.

2014 - Rylstone to Denman

For our first Junior Bike Camp we tackled Mount Nullo, tried to lose one of our leaders and had a great time riding the Mountain Bike Trails at James Estate Wines.
